Tips for Recruitment

Before Recruitment:
  • Attend the Panhellenic sessions during the summer and become familiar with basic knowledge of the chapters
  • Don't make any preconceived notions about any particular chapter, you want to go into recruitment with a clear mind!
  • Don't tell any sorority/sorority member that you favor them
  • Don't be pressured to join a particular chapter because of a parent, sibling, friend, boyfriend or companion. This is your experience!

During Recruitment:
  • Keep your opinions about recruitment and specific chapters to yourself
  • Disregard rumors from other women, guys, and any other sources. Make decisions based on your feelings and experiences you have during recruitment.
  • Focus on the conversation! Avoid making decisions on material items such as clothes.
  • Write down as much as possible: keeping notes will help you make the best choices throughout the weekend.
  • Have personal down-time; try not to get burned out too quickly. Recruitment is a long weekend and you need to be adequately prepared.
  • Drink lots of water
  • Bring gum and chapstick! ;)
  • Be calm and have fun!
